Wear Protection offers various coverage options:
Interior Protection – Damage of rips, tears to interior fabric, vinyl, or leather repaired. Coverage against spills such as coffee, milk and soft drinks. Juice spills and cigarette burns not covered.
Paintless Dent Removal – Covers small dents on exterior vertical body panels without harming the original finish. Exclusions include dents with chipped paint or metal which has been creased.
Paint Repair – Repair of scratches to the paint on exterior surfaces, including painted bumpers. Coverage does not include damage from collisions.
Key and Keyless Remote Replacement – Repair or replacement of lost, stolen, or damaged keys or keyless remotes. Includes cost of key recoding and remote re-programming.
Car Rental Benefit – Every approved claim is eligible for a rental vehicle benefit up to $50 (inclusive of taxes) for each repair visit.
Front Windshield Protection – Repair of chips and/or cracks less than 5cm caused by propelled rocks, road hazard debris, or stress cracks caused by extreme weather changes.
Head/Tail Light Protection – Head / tail light repair or replacement for damage caused by road hazards.
Tire and Wheel Protection – Repair or replacement of wheels and tires damaged by road hazard debris. Coverage is inclusive of seasonal tires and wheels.
Curb Scuff Repair – Coverage for wheel damage caused by curb scuffing during routine parking maneuvers. Coverage limited to twice per contract term, up to $200 per event.
24 Hour Roadside Assistance – Coverage includes Towing, Winching, Battery Boost, Fuel Delivery, Tire Change, and Lockout Service. Maximum of $100 inclusive of taxes, per occurrence.

You can tailor a plan that will fit your budget and coverage requirements with the 5 Star, 4 Star, and fully customizable plans.
Wear Protection is available for all Kia models within 10 model years and less than 200,000 kilometres at time of purchase.
All Wear Protection contracts expire at the sooner of the term selected or when the odometer reaches 250,000 kilometres.
Most vehicle uses qualify for Wear Protection. The following commercial applications are not eligible for Wear Protection:
police or emergency use
road repair operations
vehicles used primarily off road
taxi or public hire
job site activity
courier or delivery
limousine or shuttle

Note: any damage that exists prior to purchase of Wear Protection is not covered.
Each MBP purchaser may cancel their MBP coverage within 30 days from date of purchase and we’ll refund to you the entire amount paid, less any claims we have paid under your contract (except where prohibited by law).
MBP may not be cancelled by you after 30 days from the contract purchase date.
You may also transfer the remaining term of your MBP coverage to another private purchaser (not a dealership) by returning to your selling dealer or calling us at 1-866-475-8864 and we’ll assist with the transfer. A $100 transfer fee applies (except where prohibited by law).
What sets MBP apart from other warranty products is that you are well backed by the strength of Kia Canada and its dealers. In the event you have a covered breakdown, simply return to any authorized Kia dealer in Canada or the U.S. and we will ensure your Kia is given the royal treatment.
A few tips in making sure your claims process is as smooth as possible:
Prevent further damage – Take immediate action to prevent further damage. MBP will not cover any damage caused by not securing a timely repair of the failed component.
Take Your Vehicle to an authorized Kia Dealer – If this is not possible due to proximity or the location of the breakdown, please contact the administrator at 1-866-475-8864 for assistance in locating an authorized repair facility.
Present your Mechanical Breakdown Protection contract – Obtain authorization from the administrator prior to any repair being made. Advise the repair facility that they must first determine cause of the failure or breakdown, and advise the administrator of required repairs prior to the commencement of the repair being made. Failure to receive prior authorization for any breakdown will void coverage for such repairs under the contract.
Authorize Teardown and/or Inspection – In some cases, you may need to authorize the repair facility to inspect and/or teardown your vehicle in order to determine the cause and cost of the repair. You will be responsible for these charges if the failure is not covered under MBP. We reserve the right to require an inspection of your vehicle prior to any repair being made. Labour charges for diagnosis are the responsibility of the contract holder, unless specifically listed within Kia’s labour guide.
Pay any applicable deductible – MBP covers the cost of the work performed on your vehicle that is available under the MBP plan selected by you and previously authorized, less the deductible (if any). Once authorization is obtained, and the repair is completed, all repair orders, documentation and receipts must be submitted to the administrator within 30 days to be eligible for payment.
Emergency Repairs – Should an emergency breakdown occur which requires a repair be made at a time when the administrator’s office is closed, you must contact the administrator’s office within the next available business day of the date of repair to determine if such repair will be covered by MBP. If covered, we will pay for the repair less any applicable deductible.

Where can I purchase Wear Protection? Do I have to purchase at my original selling dealer?
We recommend that you purchase Wear Protection from your selling dealer who has the service history of your Kia and knows it best. In the event that it is not convenient for you to purchase Wear Protection from your originating dealer, you may purchase Wear Protection from any Kia Canada dealer.
What does Wear Protection cost?
Depending on the term option that best suits your intended ownership period, Wear Protection pricing will vary and is best reviewed with your selling dealer.
Can I purchase Wear Protection even if my Kia is not brand new?
Yes. Wear Protection coverage is available for most Kia models within 10 years and 200,000 kilometres at time of purchase. Your pre-owned Kia must be in good condition and covered items must be visually inspected by the selling dealer prior to purchase.
What type of parts will be used for my repair?
Wear Protection only provides the highest quality repairs. You can be assured that only new or genuine remanufactured parts will be used for your covered repair. You will also have the expertise of a factory trained technician to perform the repair to ensure the right job is done the first time.
Where do I go in the event of a claim?
We recommend that you return to your selling dealer in the event of a breakdown. They will assist you with your repairs and get you back and running as soon as possible.

Can I cancel my Wear Protection coverage?
Wear Protection is cancellable within 30 days from contract purchase date. We will provide a 100% refund (less any approved claims) in the event you do not wish to continue your coverage. After the 30 days from contract purchase you may not cancel Wear Protection coverage.
Can I transfer my Wear Protection coverage?
Wear Protection is transferrable at any time during the contract term to another private purchaser. Simply return to your selling dealer or call us at 1-866-475-8864 to initiate a transfer request. A transfer fee may apply.
